FAQ - READ ME FIRST
If you’re ready to adopt a Miss Dixie’s kitten, here’s your chance to see if you could be their match.
Please thoroughly read the following information about adopting a Miss Dixie’s kitten before applying.
- Our adoption screening and processing can be broken down into three main steps: the application, the interview, and the meet & greet.
- The application portion is fairly straightforward. Please be as open, honest and thorough as possible. Our main objective for the application is to get a good general sense of your home, what your current resident animals are like, and additional pertinent information (like current veterinarian).
- After you have submitted an application, a member of our team should reach out within 24 hours regarding your application status.
- Next is the interview portion. If your home is deemed a potential match for our kitties, you will be sent a link to schedule your interview/virtual home check! All interviews are conducted with Zoom or FaceTime and are a required step to complete an adoption application.
- Finally, when your application is approved, we will reach out to schedule your meet & greet/adoption day!
- *Our adoption process is not a same-day ordeal. Most applications take a minimum of a week to move from application submission to finalizing adoption details. We take our time to ensure every kitty is placed in the home best suited for them.
- *Kitties are not placed in homes on a first-come-first-serve basis. Priority is given to earliest applications as long as the home is a good match for the kitten or cat. We choose the best home, not the first home!
- *We reserve the right to deny any applicant for any reason.
- *All applicants must live within an 8hr drive of Seneca, SC to be considered for adoption (except in regards to specific cases where drive radius has been extended).
All Miss Dixie’s kittens come with health records, are dewormed, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped.
Please note that due to the high volume of inquiries about each kitten, you may not receive a response. We encourage you to also check out the adoptable cats and kittens at your local animal shelter.
Meet Quinn
Meet Quinn! Quinn may be missing a few things (like a leg... and most of her teeth), but what she isn't lacking is a personality full of sweetness and love.
We rescued Quinn from an outdoor colony where she was in extremely rough shape. She had a broken femur and horrible teeth that were causing her pain. One leg amputation and teeth extraction later and she is a happy, healthy, pain-free girl!
Quinn is so happy to be indoors and is settling in more and more every day! She is playful and a little goofy in the best way. She loves to play and pounce on her toys (or the random receipt she finds lying around) and chase her wand toys across the room. Despite being one leg short, she still gets around with ease. She likes to climb her cat tree and pull herself onto the bed to be with you. She is a super cuddly girl who loves to sleep with you and snuggle up to your chest. She will purr for hours when you are petting her and giving her ear scratches.
Quinn is a little shy around new animals and people initially, but she is extremely sweet and warms up quickly once she gets to know you. Quinn's ideal home would be one where she can continue to gain confidence and you will be rewarded with the most loyal, cuddly, and loving girl!

*All applicants must live within a six hour drive of Seneca, SC or within a reasonable driving distance of Bethel, CT where our partner Happily Furever After is based.
*Miss Dixie's does NOT adopt single cats/kittens to homes without another kitten or cat already established in the home.
*All Miss Dixie Kittens are up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
